BRUNCH CLUB/ Ft. Spencer Varsek

Another Saturday another brunch! This week featuring Saul's kinda-longtime-ish friend Spencer!   Make sure to check out our full outfits after the jump!

It's has also come to my recent attention, from someone who may or may not be named Cyara, that some people don't really know what happens at Brunch Club. For the record, even though there haven't been any photos of brunching, we do indeed go for brunch. I usually try to avoid taking photos of food with a large camera at restaurants simply to avoid being one of "those people". This weekend however, and for your entertainment, we did take photos of our wonderful dishes from the Alibi Room.

BTS/ New Projects!

Hey everyone! A lot of things happened over this weekend and I'm excited to share them all with you! Both are kind of a secret right now but I'll be posting more as time progresses so be sure to keep an eye on SWAV and my facebook page.

Sunday was a fun filled day of photos and pizza while we worked on the lookbook and editorial for Ghazal Elhaei's Eco Fashion Week Collection. Ghazal was chosen to be one of the few stylists who was given $500 to one of Vancouver's most well known thrift stores, Value Village. From there, stylists have free reign to style a collection using only VV which will later be presented at Vancouver Eco Fashion Week...

OUTFIT/ #SELFIE

(click photo above to view on Lookbook.nu)

Saul got these shoes, fittingly called the SELFIE by YES, for me back in February for Valentines Day from no other place than Solestruck, and JEEZE are they beautiful. There was only one problem, he accidentally ordered a size too small. Okay okay, well he didn't actually - I usually order my shoes to fit 25cm long if it's a sneaker or a rounder toe and a 25.5-26cm shoe if it's a more pointed toe or a womens shoe due to the width (anyone buying me shoes take note). These shoes fit the length perfectly but after double checking the site, they did mention they tapered in at the toes. We had planned to return them but we couldn't find the receipt and days turned into months and we figured it was a lost cause.

Three whole months later I was sitting home alone and just for pure lols, decided to try them on with some wool socks. "Maybe I  could stretch them out," I thought, "It'll be fun," they said. When I put them on they were tight, like really tight,  and I mean in the 'really damn cool' tight, but mostly in the Chinese foot-binding tight. After an hour or so I took off the socks tried them on with some thinner socks.... AND THEY FIT. No pain no gain I guess..?

OBJECTS OF DESIRE/ Opening Ceremony x Teva

Opening Ceremony is joining forces with the be-all-end-all of practical footwear, Teva. Normcorists, don't get your hopes up though as all of these OC x Teva sandals have everything from metallic straps, to buckles, to locks, coloured soles. Nahhht so normal.

Available on OC online and in stores, the sandals are ranging from $70-$90 and are launching on May 23rd. They originally posted about the collab last week so with a month between, expect these sandals to fly out the doors faster than Jeremy Scotts winged beauties.

I love Humberto Leon's reason for collaborating with Teva, “We’ve been loyal fans and customers of Teva since we were kids, and we have always wanted to partner with this iconic footwear brand. We are excited to offer exclusively to our customers our favourite, classic Teva styles with a new point of view.”

Here's the one I've definitely got my eye on

MOODY MONDAY/ 3D Energy

I'm gonna try doing a new thing every Monday called Moody Mondays where I post a moodboard of what I'm feelin'. I always make moodboards of sorts (okay well recently I haven't been making them) but usually I make them before Saul and I do a shoot just to make sure everyone is approaching it with the same mind-set!

This week's mood board is actually for a special project that's happening this week so keep your eyes peeled! Something big is happening Saturday! <3

See the full board after the break!

BRUNCH CLUB/ Good-Bye Matt

We're so sad at TBC that Matt will be leaving us to go back to Toronto to study film and other things at Ryerson. After brunching at The Alibi Room again, (obvs I got the Tomato & Brie Eggs Benny again... well okay and I got a caesar hehe) we went for a little walk around Crab Park because the sun has FINALLY come out to show its damn face.

See the full outfits and how pretty it was after the jump!

OUTFIT/ A Cut Above

(Click photo above to view and hype it on Lookbook!)

Bones - O.S. Accessories | Turtleneck, Sweatshirt - Topman | Windbreaker - Vintage Adidas
Shorts - (Altered) Cheap Monday | Platform Sandals - Y.R.U. (Solestruck)

Sorry its been so long! I've got a couple new projects under way and they're definitely going to be worth the wait. To name a couple, in the past two weeks we've done projects with El Kartel, Charles & Grace Jewellery, as well as one more that's top secret. The first two will be launched before May but the top secret one we're looking to launch a after those depending on some things. We're in the early stages right now so look out for updates on that. There'll be a little sneak peek of sorts later this week!

In other news, I got my hair cut again and this time round there's barely any green left. I might go back to green later on in the season but for now I'll be au natural on the top. Some backstory, Saul originally got me a haircut at JDs Barbershop in Gastown for Valentines because my hair was getting quite unruly. I was quite hesitant at first and probably was a little bit of the worst boyfriend ever when he told me he was getting me a haircut for a Valentines gift.... but in the end I loved it and it actually motivated me to get regular haircuts - they say every 8 weeks is appropriate for a touch-up. I'm also at a point when I'm tired of wearing hats. Mostly due to the physicality of my work, they tend to get in the way and make me way warmer than I need to be. It's kind of been strange after wearing some form of headwear every day for a year, but in the mean time expect a lot more posts without hats.
