OUTFIT/ What Happened

I was outside and asked a middle-aged lady for a lighter when all the sudden she goes, "I just have to ask, what happened to your pants?"

WHAT IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN?! It's not like I'm wearing a pair of daisy dukes to which the answer would be:

(if you haven't watched Portlandia: Feminist Bookstore WATCH IT NOW!)

Here are the pants in question with the outfit:

Hat - Local Heroes | Sunnies - USED Vintage | Blazer - Hugo Boss | Shirt - H&M | Bag - Loft 82
Mesh-Kneed Jeans - Topshop Boutique | Bracelet - Aldo | Shoes - Dr. Martens

Anyways what would you have said back to her? I was so baffled someone would actually ask me that.  It's not like something "happened" to them, nothing looks haphazard or shottily home made or like a happy accident. All the seams are finished, the mesh is in perfect condition, I literally bought them the day before and wore them the morning after. Argh! What was even the point— Jeeze, some people.

AAANYWAYS, as always, more outtakes after the jump! :)

LIFE/RANT/ TS/TM Model Store

It was model store today, meaning everyone will finally just chill out after three weeks of immense stress, mostly due to a week of overnights. I was personally stressed out for a lot of it because I was on the painting team with Kevin and $#@BZ and we had been painting for two and a half weeks straight. Walls, mannequin bases, tables, props, you name it, we painted EVERYTHING and we also did a lot of heavy lifting all while making no mess in the store or the windows. The whole time I just had wanted to style a grouping of mannequins or do anything "creative/display", but due to being a part-timer without any shifts before model store I wasn't given a section and was assigned the painting team.

At one point we were told to putty the holes in the store's window floors and then re-paint the floors white. I'm telling you now, trying to work in a store window on Granville Street at two in the morning with a shaky pane of glass between you and a LOT of drunk assholes is extremely uncomfortable.

On the bright side I was responsible for a couple fun things like this mural in the TS accessories change room:

And these red-light high-levels :)

If it hadn't been for those two projects I would have lost it. Absolutely lost it. On top of the work that had to be done, we had to know the "Must Have" statement-trend pieces and the "Perfect 21" basic-trend pieces by memory as well as the seasonal trends and a handful of other things. Kevin and I managed to memorize the items right before the walk-through started where they analyze each section and quiz the associate about the section their in. It can get very intimidating with all the managers in the store watching you waiting for your answer as well as the head operatives from Toronto and sometimes one or two from the UK.

Unfortunately Kevin and I weren't questioned at all although (thankfully) everyone seemed very pleased with the Blah Blah Blah wall :)

Until next time,

SO for those of you who haven't seen it yet I highly recommend you watch Gaga's new video Applause.'

Directed by the wonderful Inez and Vinoodh who have directed SO. MANY. THINGS. in fashion that I didn't even realize. I remember looking through fashion magazines in highschool and pouring over many of the ads in their portfolio. I couldn't be happier they're working with Gaga both because this is such a great move on for Gaga from her Mugler phase and general over-the-top-ness and the exposure to the masses for such visionaries like Inez and Vinoodh will be great for the couple. If you get lost in the video as I've heard some people have, take a quick pour over the preview for Gaga's article in V Magazine ANYWAYS, onto the look! I've been really wanting to dress down for fall, quality > quantity and all that jazz. Maybe I'm lazy, maybe I want to spend less, maybe it's just time to evolve... but definitely a bit of everything. Today was the day I started that transition. I pulled together this outfit before knowing the video launched this morning and when I got to work my coworkerbestie, Kevin, told me about the video and I instantly had pulled it up on my phone to watch it in the 5 minutes before we started at 7. WORTH THE DATA. Needless to say I made an outfit  connection with the video and BAM—did some pay-day shopping, got home and took some photos.

Hat - Local Heroes | Vest - Joe Fresh | Turtleneck - Topman | Chinos - H&M | Boots - Dr. Martens

OUTTAKES and extra Applause shots after the jump... you wanna see these.

OUTFIT/ Garage Party

There's this house under construction and the garage doesn't have a door yet. Perfect opportunity for a photoshoot!

Story Time:
As I was taking photos this car pulls up with a family in it and the wife asks, "What are you doing here?" rather suspiciously (as if it's not obvious enough that I'm taking selfies in an open garage). I let her know I was a blogger taking photos of my outfit and I offered to leave if it was their house under construction. When I asked if it was their place the wife said, "Yes." and her husband in the drivers seat  chuckling said "No it's not, continue what you're doing." and they drove off.

Anyways, in LOVE with the Kesh x American Apparel collab. I want everything but for now I have the hat and Saul's mom bought him T-Shirt (YAY! I wish my mom bought me 'cool' things).

Hat - Kesh x American Apparel | Sunglasses - Zara | T-Shirt and Necklace - Topman
Pants - H&M | Shoes - Y.R.U. (Solestruck)

OUTFIT/ Gay O.K. (Pride!)

Happy Pride! Saul and I got these great free t-shirts from American Apparel! (Thank you AA!) I took a pair of scissors to them and 10 minutes later we were ready to head out!

Between meeting up with different friends the whole weekend, the parade, day drinking, and night drinking, things got a bit crazy that night and we ended up waking up in a midst of glitter, headaches, and half-taken off clothes. Regardless, t'was a great weekend.

Necklace - Topman | Bracelets - Aldo | Platforms - Y.R.U.

PHOTOSHOOT/ Degenerate

Photoshoot time! This time I was lucky to shoot the upcoming Patrick Sherwood whom I had the pleasure of meeting at Topshop! Any regular customers may recognize this handsome face from behind the cash-desks at Topshop.

I've still been really inspired by anything and everything monochromatic. I thought going into Autumn I'd love to dress more colourful like I usually do later in the year to counter everyone else wearing black but this year I think I've finally embraced it.

P.S. Thank you so much Patrick for being so cooperative and handling everything I put you through! I hope you had a great time and enjoy the photos! Can't wait to work with you again :D
